In addition to covering the places he visited, there are many descriptions of problems encountered and how they were solved—ranging from experiencing seventy-knot winds, fifty-foot waves, equipment and engine failures and the dealings with officials and bureaucrats around the world. Boarded by armed vigilantes in Indonesia, the author holding a Rumanian marine’s Uzi hostage and a fellow cruiser killed by escaped convicts in Panama, add excitement, not generally found in a sailing adventure.

Werner will be joined by his Tongan wife Folau who he met in Tonga and joined him in his around the world adventure.
